Victories are when in the power of Christ we thwart Satan’s plans to destroy us or use us to spread his evil rather than God’s goodness and glory. Even though we might still be facing financial hardships, struggling with health issues, wishing for better relationships, desiring freedom from our pasts, etc. every moment we acknowledge, turn, and pursue God’s power over Satan’s plans and pressures is a victory

Can you imagine someone saying to Jesus, “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.”? How do you think Jesus might have responded? I think He might have answered with something like what He said to one of His disciples, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” Mat 16:23

What if God didn’t do anything for a day? What if we were on our own? There’s this mindset that develops in us, this idea that most of the time we’ve got this life thing handled. It’s only when things go wrong, it’s only when our life get’s crazy and out of control, that we need God. . . . What if for a day God stopped doing what God does?

Life has been created, and God has given mankind a paradise full of everything he needs to live, and then God places one limitation, (not two hundred, not twenty, not even two) just one limitation to mankind’s freedom, mankind’s dominion. Of this one tree you shall not eat. (Basically, if I give you this one limitation, will you obey Me?)

Over the last several weeks we’ve been looking at Genesis and the reality of Sin and Salvation. We’ve talked about what sin is, who the serpent in the Garden of Eden is, and who the Seed is who will crush Satan’s power and remove the enmity between God and those who have sinned. We’ve talked a lot about Jesus and His role in all of this, but how exactly does He pay for our sins?

Let’s look at Genesis first then jump forward from there.
Why do so many Christians turn tail and run when trouble comes? Don’t they know we serve a King who is un-limited in His power, in His authority, in His strength, in His resources, etc. We understand so little, yet even what we do understand we often forget in the face of earthly power.

Many have walked out the doors of the church never to come back again because of what they find within. Such sentiment as “They’re a bunch of hypocrites” is often spoken. In this, those who walk away are actually judging God based upon what they saw in the church.

What if we started turning this around? What if we judged the church based on who God is?
There is a big difference between wanting to be saved from judgment and wanting to be saved from sin. There are a lot of people out there who think what Christianity means is that they can be saved from judgement.. . . What God is offering us is not salvation from His judgement rather His judgement is a gift: death to sin, so that we might live without it, that we might live free. His wrath is to be celebrated. We don’t have the power to remove sin from ourselves, but He does.
