Writing Coaching

Looking for more personalized help with your writing?

Books, conferences, blogs, podcasts, classes, etc., are all really great ways to improve your skills as a writer, but what if what you really want is someone to actually look over your writing and to whom you can personally talk to and ask questions about your writing? Writing coaching provides personal interaction where you can ask questions, receive feedback, and gain guidance on your specific project(s).

Note: I am a writer and coach, but I am first and foremost a Christian and my coaching style reflects this. If you think my Christian worldview might be in anyway offensive or unhelpful to you, I would highly recommend that you seek a writing coach who would be a better fit for you. Writing is a very personal thing. Having a coach who has a similar mindset toward lifestyle, religion, and writing goals is an important factor to consider when choosing a writing coach.

Coaching Review

“I was already long published when I decided to switch genres and write fiction. As a writing coach, Given gave timely and applicable feedback on where my strengths and weaknesses were as a writer and what to work on to bring my manuscript up to excellence. She was good at listening, asking questions and intuiting and facilitating my personal goals as a writer. The finished product was a happy publisher and an improved writing process. I grew in confidence through the encouragement and insight Given provided. She is professional, thorough, and personable. I will be using her services again when working through future writing projects.”

Given Hoffman is my go-to for fact checking, offers encouraging and helpful brainstorming sessions, and possesses a keen eye for plot holes. I’m excited that she’s offering her writing coach services to the world!
